Tonight the City of Dundee is switching the lights on, and there is tons to do in the City Centre and beyond. If you are thinking about heading down, check out the programme here.

Over in Fife, you will have to wait till Sunday for Kirkcaldy to get Christmassy with the  Reindeer Parade, but you can visit Santa’s Grotto in the Mercat Centre while you are there.

SQUEAAAAAAAAAAAAL at Rylan Clark (what do you mean, WHO?) as he switches on the Glenrothes Xmas Lights on Sunday. The event begins at noon.

Slightly more sedate Christmas fun to be had at the Cambo Estate’s Xmas fair, selling local crafts and delicacies, or up in Angus at the Kirriemuir Old Parish Church.

Visit Dundee Farmers Market on Saturday to stock up on local products and delicacies. While you are in town, check out the Maiden Voyage pop up shop in the Wellgate Centre. Created and staffed by students of the Dundee and Angus College, selling fashion accessories and clothes.

The Science Festival draws to a close this weekend, but there is still time to be inspired and amazed, or take a stroll up Balgay Hill to Mills Observatory for the Planetarium Show tonight

Dundee Roller Girls take on Fierce Valley Roller Girls at the DISC Sport Centre in Dundee on Sunday – with free entry for children under 14 yrs when accompanied by a paying adult.

The Webster Theatre in Arbroath is showing Grease this weekend, so dig out your dancing shoes and be hopelessly devoted to yooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

In Dundee the annual HomeStart Charity Night looks to be a fun night of music, with the Downfield Musical Society.

It’s not strictly the weekend, but we thought we’d share the Dry Ski Slope sessions starting next Monday at Ancrum Outdoor Centre in Dundee.
