What’s On This Weekend – 9th/10th November

There is tons to do this weekend at the Dundee Science Festival, such as the Build Your Own Robot at the Wellgate Centre. Check out their website for Saturday 9th November and Sunday 10th November. The events take place around the city.
For vintage crafts, fashion, jewellery and more, check out the Carnaby Market at Roseangle Arts Cafe from 11am to 4pm.
If you are going to the Christmas Night Light next week, then you might want to make your own Winter Night Light Lantern this weekend. The beginning of Dundee’s Christmas celebrations is marked by a torchlight procession, and this year’s theme is Wings and Things. You can create your own lantern on Saturday and Sunday at the McManus Galleries.
If you fancy a bit of nostalgia, head for Fat Sams and the Boomtown Rats gig. That’s right, 26 years after they were last in the city, Sir Bob and the band are back. Dust off your Doc Martens and get down there!
A great recurring event on Sunday morning is the Heartspace Kids Yoga for 5 to 11 year olds, which is completely free. Heartspace also offer free yoga for toddlers and for kids with Special Needs. Check out their website for details, and for dates and times of their regular yoga courses, including prenatal and postnatal courses.
Head for Peel Farm in Lintrathen by Kirriemuir for a Ceramic Workshop. This event is suitable for adults and children, and costs £15 per person.
Its the Forfar Farmers’ Market on Saturday, with the usual fantastic range of produce and products from the area.
The Angus Ranger Service has events at Monikie, Forfar Loch and Crombie on Saturday – some events should be booked in advance, to check the website for details.
Over in Fife, Forgan’s of St Andrews offer a weekly Saturday morning Kids’ Ceilidh from 10.30am to 11.30am with a dancing teacher to teach the little ones.
The Dunfermile Farmers’ Market will tempt you with everything from beer to organic chocolate.
The Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum is offering a Kids’ Xmas Workshop on Saturday
Get your winter woollies out and head to Glenrothes for the Firework Display on Saturday evening from 6.30pm.
